Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Services Attorney for a national real estate firm. The position is on-site in Miami. Candidate must have an active Florida Bar license. Experience working with land acquisition and development is ideal. Commercial closing experience is mandatory.
Salary: Compensation is negotiable based on experience. The base salary will range from $165,000 to $175,000, plus bonus. Base pay is flexible for candidates with proven experience.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Oversee and support commercial transactions (vacant lands), providing expert guidance on title, escrow, and closing matters. Serve as a liaison between underwriters, clients, and internal teams, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices. Manage high-liability approvals, reduce risks, and mentor staff to improve knowledge and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and close commercial (vacant land) transactions.
- Provide title services in compliance with industry standards and underwriter requirements.
- Identify and resolve potential title issues, disputes, and claims.
- Advise clients, attorneys, and associates on complex title and escrow matters.
- Review and approve high-liability orders and consult with underwriters for approvals beyond limits.
- Develop and implement best practices for closings and title operations.
- Train and mentor staff to ensure team members are knowledgeable and confident in handling complex issues.
- Stay current on legal, regulatory, and underwriting requirements and share updates with the team.
- Support marketing and client engagement efforts as needed.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active Florida Bar license.
- Continuing legal education (CLE) requirements met.
- Proven experience in commercial title services, underwriting, claims, and litigation.
- Strong knowledge of Florida real estate law, title insurance laws, and regulations.
- Leadership and team management experience.
- Excellent communication, client management, and problem-solving skills.
