We are currently looking for an experienced Licensed Settlement Officer for a growing regional title company. Candidate must have 3 plus years of current title closing experience and be a licensed Title Producer in VA to be considered for job.
Settlement Officer Job Duties- Include but not limited to:
The candidate will act as a liaison between all parties in a real estate transaction (homebuyer, builder, lender, realtor, etc.). The candidate will also serve as a point of contact for all parties to the transaction including homebuyer, mortgage, accounting, and other areas within the Title & Settlement process.
The candidate will handle all aspects of settlement transactions including preparing HUD statements, preparation and coordination of deeds, verifying the accuracy of loan documents, insurance documentation, and seller statements and contract or sales agreement.
The candidate will obtain signatures for closing transactions, explain all documents at closing and facilitate questions and answers between parties to the transaction at the closing table.
The candidate will review and approve checks and/or wire transfers and also be responsible for reviewing the final disbursement summary and ledger upon completion of funding.
The candidate will review escrow accounting reports and resolve any outstanding check or open file balance issues and perform all other duties assigned.

3 plus years experience in title insurance and real estate settlement procedures, including HUD statements, loan documents, etc.
- Licensed as title producer in VA.
- Comprehensive understanding of state vesting and holding title requirements
Superior communication, presentation, and organizational skills
Knowledge of real state law, abstracting, and examination
